Birthday Cake!

Birthdays are the best excuse for baking!

This cake is so easy, you can either bake the cake yourself, or buy pre-made. If you're not living in Denmark, Ikea sell these with 3 layers.

I soaked the layers in a little bit of orange juice, usually I'd use sherry but this one was child friendly. Next I sprinkled over crispy macaroons followed by whipped cream and finely chopped strawberries.

You can mix each layer up, and pretty much anything will taste delicious!

Sometimes i'll coat the top of the cake in icing sugar but I decided to just go for a berry topping. Note - the blackberries were freshly picked from the garden ;)

The cake was eaten within 10 minutes. Enough said.
